This was my first Fall Fest experience; an all ladies 3 gun match out on by A Girl And A Gun and it was so much fun!
AG & AG Fall Festival ⋆ A Girl and A Gun
My battle buddy Eileen helped me so much before the match in getting me ready, making sure I had the right gear, and the right set up of the gear. I flew out to Kansas City and then drove to the campground near the match location, where I was greeted by many of Eileens travel buddies that had already been together across the country shooting in various 3-gun matches, they were immediately helpful and warm and hysterically funny. The Muller’s made such delicious food, like they were feeding and army, it was hard to say goodbye the last day, but hopefully I will see them all again soon. The match began with a team pistol match, Eileen and I were ” Shake and Bake” and we worked hard and had so many laughs we even placed first in our division! Then next was the 3-gun match, it was my first big experience with long range rifle shooting and especially shotgun, shells were flying everywhere as I tried to load then, but at least I could shoot fairly well once I got it loaded! My rifle went down the first day, I had been trying to get a good zero but it wouldn’t hold, in despair I reached out to one of the RSOs there who was able to deduce it was not my rifle it was the optic. I was in trouble, 2 days of competition and no rifle, then out of the blue the RSO said here use my rifle!
So, I did, otherwise I would have been toast.
I came back understanding the things I really needed work on, understanding my holds, and loading the shotgun, and physical fitness. The match was an excellent experience we had great food, gorgeous views every day and the most amazing ladies you can imagine, oh and the prize table was pretty impressive too!! Can’t wait to do it again next year!
